Deep in darkest Moscow, monumental painting will never be the same again. Vladimir Dubossarsky & Alexsander Vinogradov are the duo putting passion back into peristrioka. Trained in the official Soviet school of painting, Dubossarsky & Vinogradov are now tackling the rest of the world with their weird celebratory baroque. Making Social Realist paintings of what The People really want to see, their works have included tribute images for farmers, prisons, and factories, featuring ecstatic porn stars, cold war film actors, and politicians amongst the usual glory of livestock and foliage. Following their Painting For the Reichstag (starring Helmut Kohl at the symbolic wedding of the re-unification of Germany), and How Are You Ladies and Gentleman? (an 8m long extravaganza commissioned for Italy, featuring naked fashion designers and runway super models in a clothing forest.), Dubossarsky & Vinogradov will make their 8.7m UK premier with A Painting for London, starring none other than The Queen.
